On a recent flight through Warsaw to Chicago i was able to experience LOT Polish Airlines business class product, and I have to say, apart from a slightly dated cabin, the product was near excellence. There will be a review of that on my site soon, as well as a full video trip report on my recently updated YouTube channel (subscribe if you haven’t already so you can see when this report will go up in just a few days time).

Announced by Recaro, who will be retrofitting the entire 787 fleet, LOT will be upgrading its cabin interiors to exclusively feature Recaro seating from the CL6720 in business class, PL3530 in premium economy, and CL3810 in economy. This makes for a worthy upgrade in all cabin classes and allows LOT to become even more competitive, on what is already an affordable option for crossing the Atlantic.

This does equate to over 2000 seats to be installed, albeit the new seats won’t start arriving until 2026. As per the Recaro press release; “The CL6720 business class seat is designed to offer passengers a luxurious and comfortable travel experience. Its spacious design, premium amenities, and ergonomic features ensure that travellers can relax and unwind throughout their journey. The sleek aesthetics of the CL6720 complement any cabin interior, while its lightweight structure contributes to fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability.”

“In the premium class, the PL3530 sets new standards in passenger comfort and innovation. With cutting-edge features and unique design, the PL3530 offers ergonomic cushioning, adjustable recline, and an intuitive control panel. Passengers can stay connected with integrated entertainment options and USB charging ports throughout their flight.”

“The CL3810, designed with a meticulous attention to detail, combines cutting-edge technology with a sleek and modern aesthetic in the economy class. Passengers can enjoy spacious seating with ample legroom, a six-way adjustable headrest, lumbar support, and recline options up to six inches, ensuring a comfortable experience on long-haul flights.”

Obviously there’s a lot of sales speak in there, but the standout element is the additional privacy that the Business Class product will offer, and that will be of welcome standout importance to many travellers, as LOT’s 787s fly mainly on business routes, and on both my recent flights, every single passenger was a solo traveller in the cabin.

What is also great to see is that the airline is investing in new cabin design including coloured bulkhead graphics which will add further colour and dimension to the inflight product.

This is a great advancement for the carrier, and we just hope that the airline will speed up the deliveries, as as soon as they have completed these, this airline will be a strong competitor in the European landscape.

As I do every year, I ask on your kind support to keep things going. If you are able to donate – whatever amount – it all gets funnelled back in to the site, to keep the site full of content. And I thank you personally for your kind support.
